There is always something fun to do in the beautiful island town of New Castle. Rich with history and vibrant with activity you can play in the sand, water or on land! Here are a few of our favorite activities on a sunny summer day.

Great Island Common
Put your toes in the sand and take in the views of the neighboring towns over the water at this popular New Castle park. Visitors and residents alike love Great Island Common for picnics, beach play and family gatherings. Where else in the Seacoast do you have a beach, playground, wide open field and picnic areas in one place?

Coffee at Henry's Market
Start the day with a cup of Joe at Henry's Market or stop in for a quick afternoon pick-me-up! This charming in-town market has all the essentials, delicious fresh made salads and sandwiches, coffee and tea daily. It is a great stop on your way to the Common!

Picnic at Fort Stark
Take in a little piece of history at Fort Stark. The Visitors Center at Fort Stark is open from Memorial Day to Labor Day Saturdays from 9:00am - noon. Have a quick picnic lunch by the water then walk it off on the unmarked trail spanning the ten acre property.

Lunch at Latitudes Waterfront
There are few dining experiences in the Seacoast more beautiful than Latitudes Waterfront, part of the Wentworth by the Sea Hotel and Spa. Overlooking the marina and the mouth of the Piscataqua River opening to the Ocean, this beautiful restaurant is perfect for a nice long lunch or special date night dinner.

Ice Cream at The Ice House
Indulge in a sweet treat at a New Castle landmark, The Ice House! Grab a cone, a frappe or even a burger. Yum!

It is so easy to love New Castle you will want to live here!

And we've done all five. Hope to do them all many more times. New Castle Common is one of the most scenic spots on the Seacoast.
